Decision-making Algorithm for Waste Recovery Options. Review on Textile Waste Derived Products

Abstract As the volume of textile waste steadily increases, mechanical, chemical and biological technologies for recovery are evolving. Also, legal framework European Union has stated commitments promoting recycling in Member States. So far, however, no decision-making algorithms have been developed selection products recovered from waste. Within present study, a hybrid multi-criteria algorithm evaluating applying seven circular economic criteria – ‘Circular economy approach technology’, ‘Added-value potential final product’, ‘Share total feedstock’, ‘Diversity mix suitable specific ‘Pre-treatment ‘Recovery potential’ ‘Maturity technology’. The weighting was determined by eight management experts. results expert-based evaluation show that most important product’ methodology adapted to nine compost, refuse-derived fuel, ethanol, glucose, building insulation material cement mix, denim waste, terephthalic acid, cotton polyester. multi-criteria, ranking shows highest is glucose while lowest compost fuel.
